Importance of Iron
Floradix: Your Natural Solution

Floradix is a liquid
Unlike tablets or capsules, liquids do not require any breakdown by the digestive tract and are therefore ready for absorption.
Liquids can spread out over more absorption sites in the digestive tract, further aiding absorption. Liquids can be given in divided doses over the day; this is important because only 10-15 mg of iron can be absorbed at one time.

Research has shown that Floradix is effective against iron deficiency
A study was conducted in 2002, examining the effects of Floradix on iron deficient
women between the ages of 18 and 65 was found to be effective at returning iron stores to normal over a 16-week period. A strong majority (70%) of participants reported feeling good or very good in terms of improvement of symptoms versus only 28% in the control group.

Floradix is easy on the digestive tract
Many women choose not to take iron because they would rather live with fatigue than the side effects of constipation and intestinal cramping that often come with iron supplementation. In the 2002 study, it was found that due to the high absorption rate of Floradix, very little unabsorbed iron enters into the intestinal tract and therefore constipation is unlikely to occur.
90% of the participants were able to take Floradix without any side effects including digestion problems.

Floradix is designed for prevention of iron deficiency
The majority of women between the ages 15 and 55 could avoid iron deficiency if they took a preventative dose of 20 mg of iron /day. The menstrual cycle, pregnancy and lactation increase the need for iron. In fact, a recent study found that fatigue caused by iron deficiency is one of the most under-diagnosed problems in this age group. Pre-menopausal and pregnant women, teenagers and children under the age of 4 are at highest risk of iron deficiency.

Floradix is a plant-based source of iron and is therefore safe
to take every day

Non-heme sources of iron have been shown to protect against getting too much iron, and are suitable for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike. In fact, research has found no link between non-heme iron (from food or supplements) and iron overload. This is because of a protective mechanism that prevents excess iron storage; when the body has enough iron, absorption of iron from plants decreases to 2-3%. Contrast this with animal-sourced (heme) iron, which continues to absorb at a rate of 20% even when iron stores are adequate.

Floradix stands for quality in every step of production
Great care is taken in the production of Floradix, from the growing of the herbs to the manufacturing of the final product. Salus grows 60% of the raw materials at their own certified organic farm in Chile.
The herbs are carefully selected, sorted and blended in their patented cone mixers, then decocted for four hours to ensure the optimum medicinal and nutrient content. The yeast and iron blend and fruit juices are thoroughly blended in to ensure potency and uniform content drop for drop.

Floradix is extensively tested for optimum purity
Only the finest raw herbs and natural fruit juices are selected for use in Floradix.
Each raw ingredient is tested for pesticide residues, radiation, heavy metals, and microbial contamination. Good Manufacturing Practices are followed and strict quality controls are applied to every stage of production. Most of the herbs originate from organic farms or are gathered in the wild under controlled supervision to prevent over-harvesting and ensure sustainability.

Floradix is additive-free
No alcohol, chemical preservatives, or artificial colourings or sweeteners are added.
Floradix is vacuum-sealed in glass bottles, in a germ-free environment to ensure optimum freshness without compromising purity.
